The Transports 1977
Peter Bellamy's Clasic Ballad Opera

This product is included in: The Transports
Peter Bellamy?s masterwork ?The Transports ? a Ballad Opera? was one of the jewels of 1970s folk music: it was acclaimed as ?Folk Album of the Year?, and featured most of the leading folk personalities of the day, singing the parts for which Peter had so carefully crafted for them, in this epic tale of convict transportation, of love and loss, and of the birth of the Australian nation. The opera was performed on stage on many occasions, and today?s leading folk musicians and performers still draw upon Peter?s masterpiece for songs and for inspiration. The entire 1977 Ballad Opera, digital re-mastered and re-mixed, forms the first CD of this Silver Edition of The Transports.
